Regional chamber relocates
downtown Youngstown office
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber has relocated its main office downtown from the First National Bank tower to City Centre One, Suite 500, 100 E. Federal Street.
“The new space will accommodate our team and organization now and as we grow into the future, especially as all of our staff will be housed on one floor, rather than two,” Tom Humphries, president and CEO, said in a news release.
The move also will result in lower operating costs for the chamber, and the new offices include more storage capacity, a conference room and free parking for visitors, according to the release.
The chamber will retain an office at 197 W. Market Street, Warren.
AAA forecasts first decrease
in summer travel since 2009
The American Automobile Association forecasts Americans will take 700 million trips this summer, based on economic indicators and state reopenings.
That number is down nearly 15 percent compared with last July through September, and is the first decline in summer travel since 2009. AAA booking trends show that as Americans return to making travel plans, they are doing so cautiously and more spur-of-the-moment.
“Americans have spent the last few months dreaming about their summer vacations,” Bevi Powell, senior vice president of AAA East Central, said in a news release. “There have been some changes in booking trends this year. Travelers are booking long-weekend getaways and impromptu trips, with many loading their cars and heading to their favorite sunny destination or national park.”
