BUSINESS UPDATES | Pavlik reports rebound from COVID-19 lockdown
YOUNGSTOWN — The COVID-19 lockdown delivered some tough blows, but Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik said his business enterprises are rebounding.
In an interview with Valley Tough, the former world champion boxer said memberships at his Mi Gym Fitness Center in Columbiana have picked up since the Ohio lockdown on gyms was lifted, even though summer is usually a slow season for gyms.
He’s working on a second fitness center, a new boxing gym and some new promotions for Sweet Science+, the boxing app he owns with fellow retired boxer Billy Lyell.
“A lot of the timing will depend on what happens with the coronavirus,” Pavlik told Valley Tough. “It has put a hold on a lot of things. It’s really hard to make predictions. ... We’ll have to wait and see.”
Established in March, Valley Tough is a website focused on the Mahoning Valley’s rebound from COVID-19. It was developed and is managed by Pecchia Communications, a Canfield public relations firm.
