BOARDMAN — The Tutoring Center, 1419 Boardman-Canfield Road, Suite 320, reopened Monday to help students with their learning.
The center specializes in helping children with academic skills, get better grades, achieve higher standardized test scores and gain confidence, motivation and concentration.
The center says social distancing is built into its system so that every child receives the “optimal amount” of individual instruction while maintaining a safe distance from one another.
The Tutoring Center is owned by Ryan Philibin and his wife, Danielle. Ryan is a technology teacher at Canfield Local Schools.and has more than 18 years of experience teaching and coaching students in both Mahoning and Trumbull counties. He has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Youngstown State University and a master's degree in teaching and learning from Nova Southeastern University. Danielle is employed at Cleveland Clinic Star Imaging as an MRI and nuclear medicine technologist and has 15 years of experience in the medical field. She has a bachelor's degree in radiologic imaging and science from Kent State University.

Cortland Bancorp comes in
at No. 105 on magazine’s list
CORTLAND — Cortland Bancorp, the bank holding company of Cortland Savings and Banking Co., announced that it was again named to American Banker magazine’s Top 200 Publicly Traded Community Banks and Thrifts.
In its May 2020 issue, American Banker ranked Cortland Bancorp 105th on the list of top performing publicly traded community banks. Cortland Bancorp’s was ranked No. 134 last year. The rankings are based on three-year average return on equity as of the end of the previous year.

Gas prices increase ahead
of Memorial Day weekend
YOUNGSTOWN — The average price for gasoline across Northeast Ohio is 6 cents higher this week at $1.91 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.
The average price for unleaded self-service gasoline in the Youngstown area was $1.88 per gallon.
