Columbiana nears 300 COVID-19 cases, reports 3 new deaths
LISBON — Nearly 300 people in Columbiana have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the local health department. There are 292 confirmed positive cases in the county — 11 more than Monday.
The county also reported three additional deaths, bringing the death toll to 30. Two of the new deaths were women who lived in long-term care facilities and were 88 and 91 years old. The third was a 77-year-old man.
Of the county's 30 deaths, 13 were from long-term care facilities; 28 of the 292 cases are in long-term care facilities.
There are 62 confirmed cases at the Federal Correctional Institution at Elkton and seven deaths at the prison. According to the Bureau of Prisons, 49 staff members have tested positive for the coronavirus, and 88 people incarcerated at the prison have tested positive.
