Mahoning County reports 25 new COVID-19 cases, one fewer death

YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County reported 25 new COVID-19 cases Thursday for a total of 828 cases, according to data from the Mahoning County Public Health Department.

In the county, 80 people have died as a result of the virus. One death reported Wednesday was removed from the count, because the deceased has since been determined to be COVID-19 negative.

Of the county's 80 deaths, 57 percent were residents of long-term care facilities. According to a list released by the state Wednesday, 356 cases were at county long-term care facilities, cumulatively.

  • Masternick Memorial Health Care Center in New Middletown: 13 residents, 9 staff (Cumulatively: 30 residents, 15 staff)
  • Mercy Health Humility House Senior Living in Austintown: 17 residents, 15 staff (35 cumulative cases)
  • Mercy Health Marian Assisted Living Center in North Lima: 4 residents, 3 staff (Cumulatively: 5 residents, 3 staff)
