YOUNGSTOWN — Award-winning concert organist and recording artist Thomas Murray will perform at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., at 4 p.m. March 15.

Tickets, ranging in price from $7 to $12 (including applicable fees), can be purchased at the Florence and Ward Beecher Box Office at Stambaugh Auditorium, online at stambaughauditorium.com or by calling 330-259-0555. The box office is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Born in California, Murray studied with Clarence Madre at Occidental College. In 1986, the American Guild of Organists named him International Artist of the Year. He has performed in England, Japan, South America, Australia and all over continental Europe. He performed for the International Congress of Organists in Cambridge, the National Chamber Orchestra in Washington, D.C., and the Lahti Organ Festival in Finland where he was a soloist with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra.

Murray was named an honorary fellow of the Royal College of Organists in England in 2003, and in 2005 he was awarded the Gustave Stoeckel Award for excellence in teaching at Yale University School of Music, where he has served on the faculty for 34 years.
