High school musicians invited to participate in YSU’s Clarinet Day Saturday

YOUNGSTOWN — The Dana School of Music will present Clarinet Day on Saturday (Feb. 29) in Bliss Hall’s Recital Hall on the campus of Youngstown State University.

Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. Geared toward clarinetists in ninth through 12th grades, the event features rehearsals, a workshop discussing how to improve articulation and participation in the Dana Clarinet Day Gala Concert at 5 p.m.

The event is free, but registration is recommended by emailing Alice Wang at amwang@ysu.edu.

Students should bring their own instruments and be prepared to rehearse and perform the music provided to them when they register via email. Clarinetists on auxiliary instruments also are welcome.
