NEWTON FALLS — Stewart "Stew" L. Bryant, 83, passed away April 17 at St. Joseph Health Care.

He was born Dec. 3, 1937 in Cleveland, the son of Melvin and Edna (Gillespie) Bryant.

Stew was a 1957 graduate of Newton Falls High School.

He served our country in the U.S. Army. Stew was honorably discharged March 31, 1964.

He was united in marriage with Mary Louise Farkas June 15, 1964 in Warren.

Stew was a self-employed barber for more than 41 years.

He was a life member of AMVETS Post 112 and Army Navy Post 271.

In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, dancing and bowling.

Stew belonged to various bowling and dart leagues.

Cherished memories of Stew will be carried on by his son, Daniel (Dreea) Bryant of Newton Falls; a daughter, Sarah Ours of Warren; a sister, Gloria Bryant of Lake Milton; and granddaughters Sidney, Isabella and Danica.

Preceding Stew in death were his wife, Mary Jan. 31, 1995; brothers Thomas Bryant and Mike Bryant; and sisters Dolores Carver and Linda Ferrance.

Private family calling hours and services were held. Stew was laid to rest next to Mary at Hawley Cemetery.
