Chow Chow Proves You Can Be a Guard Dog Without Getting Up
Dogs are often a person's best friend because they're attentive, loyal, and always ready to protect the people they love. Many breeds are known for their instinctual ability to guard, doing so with confidence and great focus. But every now and then, you meet a dog who, in theory, should have those same traits but interprets his work a little differently.
In this video, we meet a cute Chow Chow who, based on his breed, should be a great watchdog. But we quickly realize, he does things his own way. And it's hilarious.

Boobie Doobie (@doobies_chowchow) shared a video of the cutest, fluffiest Chow Chow who has his own unique way of making sure the home is secure and that his mom is safe, and he won't let anyone tell him he's probably not doing it the right way.
He secures the random corner of the house and makes sure nothing's going to come walking through there. He's guarding the front door by taking a nap right in front of it, and is happy to keep his mama safe through the holiday.

Chow Chows Are Actually Good Watchdogs
Boobie Doobie may not be the best at guarding the family, and he's a little confused about what he's supposed to be doing, but Chow Chows are actually good watchdogs, according to experts.
The American Kennel Club describes the Chow Chow as "dignified, bright, and serious-minded," which makes sense, as they're very vigilant and alert. For social traits, the Chow Chow lands at the top end of the "watchdog/protective nature spectrum as vigilant, and they're not really open to strangers, which makes sense. Although they're not the happiest around strangers, they are very loyal to their loved ones and will always work to keep them safe.
Keep practicing, Boobie Doobie, you'll get there!
