There are three things guaranteed in the world today: Death, taxes, and Jeopardy! being on. Believe it or not, the iconic game show has been on the air for over 60 years (though the modern incarnation we know and love technically debuted in 1984). Under the watchful eye of Ken Jennings (who himself was a record-breaking champion), Jeopardy! puts three people's trivia skills and reflexes to the ultimate test. And so many of the greats to grace those podiums started by simply watching the show as it aired on weekdays, as millions have done for over half a century.

Here's a spoiler-filled recap of who won Jeopardy! today, plus the answer to Final Jeopardy.

What was Final Jeopardy today?

Final Jeopardy today was in the category "ENERGY."

The clue: "The first power plant using this type of energy was built in Italy, at a site thought to have inspired Dante.'"

The answer: What is geothermal?

Williams had a solid game, finding all three Daily Doubles and getting them all correct, allowing him to seize control of the game early and walk into Final Jeopardy with a runaway lead of $26,400, more than double Bogan's second-place total of $10,200. While Bogan was the only one to get Final Jeopardy right, Williams wagered strategically, so even with a wrong answer, his loss of $3,601 kept him at a total score of $22,799, well above Bogan's maximum possible score of $20,400. Bogan wagered $3,600, which brought him to a final total of $13,800, not enough to overtake Williams' lead. Meanwhile, Oyler-Lusco wagered nearly her entire $3,200 winning, answered wrong, and finished with a dollar.

Williams will return on Monday for his shot at game number four.
