Everything Added to Netflix in America This Week, Including 13 Movies and 7 Series
Netflix had a busy week for its US subscribers. Whether you're in the mood for a feel-good drama, a classic superhero rewatch, a gritty crime thriller, or the return of one of anime's biggest series, there's something worth adding to your queue. Here's everything that landed on the platform this week.
What to Watch This Weekend on Netflix
The biggest new addition is Remarkably Bright Creatures, a new Netflix film based on the beloved novel by Shelby Van Pelt. Through unlikely bonds formed with a clever octopus and a young man during night shifts at a local aquarium, an elderly widow named Tova learns of a life-changing discovery that may bring her joy and wonder once again.
For fans of literary adaptations with a darker edge, Lord of the Flies arrives as a new Netflix original limited series. When a plane crash strands a group of British boys on an unoccupied tropical island, they gradually slide into anarchy as social conventions disappear and attempts at responsible rule divide them into warring factions. The accompanying Making of Lord of the Fliesdocumentary is also available for those who want to go deeper.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 arrives for anime fans this week, picking up after Yuji Itadori swallows a cursed talisman and enters a shaman's school in pursuit of a demon's remaining body parts. If you haven't started the series yet, now is the time.
The Chestnut Man also returns with Season 2, subtitled Hide and Seek, continuing the Danish crime thriller in which a figurine made of chestnuts found at a murder scene leads two detectives toward a killer connected to a politician's missing child. One of the best Nordic noir series available on the platform.
The Spider-Man Trilogy is Back on Netflix
In welcome news for fans of a certain era of superhero cinema, all three Sam Raimi Spider-Man films - Spider-Man (2002), Spider-Man 2 (2004) and Spider-Man 3 (2007) - are streaming again on Netflix. Whether you're revisiting them for nostalgia or introducing them to someone for the first time, the trilogy holds up better than most of its contemporaries.
