Tiger Woods Breaks Post-Rehab Silence With an Emotional Message
Tiger Woods is breaking his silence with an emotional message after returning from rehab in Switzerland.
The golf icon, 50, who returned from rehab on May 15 following his rollover car crash, took to Twitter on Memorial Day to honor the legacy of his late father, Earl Woods, who died in 2006. He also made a point to honor all those men and women who gave their lives to their country.
"My father was a Special Forces operator with two tours in Vietnam and 20 years of service. To all those like my father, we all say thank you for your sacrifices. Without them we wouldn't have the greatest country on Earth," Woods shared in a post on Twitter/X.

Woods Received Permission to Leave the Country for Rehab in April
On April 1, Woods got the permission of a Florida judge to leave the United States to seek treatment following his car accident and arrest for DUI. He was granted permission to leave Florida, according to court documents obtained and reviewed by PEOPLE. According to the documents, the athlete's physician made the recommendation that he leave the country "based upon the Defendant's complex clinical presentation, the urgent need for a level of care that cannot safely or effectively be done within the United States."
The recommendation that Woods seek treatment out of the U.S. was also based on the idea that his "privacy has been repeatedly compromised."
"Ongoing medical scrutiny and public exposure create significant barriers to his care and would result in setbacks and an inability to fully engage in treatment," Woods' lawyer, Douglas Duncan, argued in the filing, the piece continued.
When Was Tiger Woods in a Car Accident?
On March 27, Woods was involved in a rollover car crash when his Land Rover rolled over after he "overtook" a pressure-cleaning truck that was pulling a small trailer, Sheriff John M. Budensiek said in a press conference, PEOPLE noted.
Police administered a breathalyzer test on the scene, and Woods "blew triple zeros." However, he refused to submit to a urinalysis at the jail. According to the police affidavit obtained by PEOPLE, Martin County Sheriff's Office deputies allegedly found two hydrocodone pills in his left pants pocket.
