"I'm not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today's age," Biles wrote on her Instagram Story. "But almost dying wasn't on my bingo card earlier this week."
"This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life. Especially since [husband] Jonathan [Owens] was in Indy for practices," Biles continued. "I've been in bed resting this week, I'll explain sooner or later but s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers. Loooovveeee y'all."
Biles, who lives in Houston, is married to NFL safety Jonathan Owens, who signed a contract with the Indianapolis Colts this offseason.
She did not go into detail about what caused the scare, but confirmed in a tweet Saturday night that it was health-related.

"Simone Biles sharing such a terrifying health scare is a sobering reminder that life can change in an instant, even for our superheroes. Wishing her a full and gentle recovery-so glad she's resting and safe," a third person said.
"Hoping for her speedy recovery. One of the greatest Olympians of all time deserves a long and healthy life," a Reddit commenter added.
"She probably assumes this information will leak no matter what and would prefer to be the one to get it out first," another Reddit user speculated in regards to why Biles shared the info publicly.
We'll have to see if Biles elaborates at all on her condition in the coming days.
