‘We’re focusing on what we do best.’ Here’s Liberty’s new Landmark
Landmark Restaurant & Bakery celebrated the grand opening of its second location, 1472 Churchill-Hubbard Road, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday.
The original Landmark Restaurant in Youngstown has been a Mahoning Valley staple for nearly two decades and was taken over in 2020 by new owners Raphe Neapolitan and Matt Savon.
Now, Neapolitan and Savon have brought the popular breakfast and lunch eatery to Liberty Township.
“We actually brought the main cook that’s been at the Youngstown location for 20 years [Brian Berendt],” Neapolitan said. “He’s now running [the Liberty] location. So [we’re prioritizing] consistency, quality and large portions for a fair price.
“We’re focusing on what we do best, the traditional diner style lunch and breakfast.”
Additionally, The Landmark Restaurant is looking to employ between 15 to 20 people in both locations.
“We brought some [staff] from the Youngstown location to the Liberty location, which, you know, then caused us to have to hire a couple people — probably three or four new hires at the Youngstown location,” Neapolitan said.
Neapolitan said job-seekers can apply on Landmark’s Facebook pages for the Youngstown and Liberty locations. Otherwise, applicants can stop in either restaurant to apply in-person.
Something unique to Landmark’s Liberty location is extended business hours. Neapolitan said unlike the Youngstown location, which only serves dinner on Fridays, the Liberty location will be open for dinner daily until 7:30 or 8 p.m.
“We’re trying to bring everything that the Youngstown Landmark is known for over to the Liberty location,” Neapolitan said
“So far, everyone that’s come in the door has been more than awesome and appreciative that we’ve opened up a restaurant there. So I mean, we’re so appreciative of all the kind of good feedback and just all of the business that we’ve done so far,” he added.
