Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker Band to perform at Covelli Centre in July

Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd will roll into Youngtown as it brings its “Big Wheels Keep On Turnin’” tour to the Covelli Centre at 7 p.m. July 22.

The Marshall Tucker Band will also perform.

Tickets, ranging in price from $29.50 to $275, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at Ticketmaster.com and the Southwoods Health Box Office inside Covelli Centre, 229 E. Front St. Presale tickets will be available here from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m Thursday. Use password BIGWHEELS.

Lynyrd Skynyrd’s hits include “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Free Bird” and “Simple Man.” In 2004, the band was ranked No. 95 on Rolling Stone’s list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, and in 2006 the group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
