This weekend, there are several fall-themed activities to enjoy.

There are local festivals and fleas, and lots of chances to support friends and neighbors who are selling as part of their small business.

Here are Mahoning Matters’ top six things to do in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties, starting on Friday.

Westside Bowl’s punk rock festival

Had a stressful week? Head to Westside Bowl’s weekend-long Mom’s Basement Fest, a chance to showcase some of the bands who work with Mom’s Basement Records.

The punk rock festival show starts at 7 p.m. Friday at 2617 Mahoning Ave. in Youngstown.

The first band taking the stage is COVERT FLOPS, followed by The Scratch n’ Sniffs, Lustkill and the Rockaway Beach Boys.

Tickets for Friday’s show are $15 ahead of time and $20 at the door.

On Saturday, there’s an acoustic brunch from noon - 2 p.m. which is free to attend featuring Johnny Badgrammer from Kelsey Badgrammer at 12:15 p.m., Dirt Bike Adam from The Bacarrudas at 12:50 p.m. and Matt Riggle from 41 Gorgeous Blocks at 1:30 p.m.

The Mom’s Basement Fest main show on Saturday starts at 4:30 p.m. and bands will be playing until midnight on two different stages, including:

  • Main Stage: The Bacarrudas, The Putz, Beatnik Termites, 41 Gorgeous Blocks, The Repellents and The Jasons
  • Trophy Room Stage: Hoaxxers, Dropped Out, The Carmines, Regal Beagle, Classic Pat and Johnny Terrien and the Bad Lieutenants as POWERFIST!

Doors open at 4 p.m. and tickets for Saturday’s show are $30.

Elm Street Drive-In

There’s nine different movies playing on the three screens at the Elm Road Triple Drive-In on Friday and Saturday nights, plus trunk-or-treating for kids.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and trunk-or-treating will start in front of all three screens at 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. before the movies start at the Warren drive-in.

Here’s the full schedule of which movies are playing on the three screens on both nights:

SCREEN 1: Hotel Transylvania (2012) at 7:30 p.m., The Wild Robot at 9:10 p.m. and ParaNorman (2012) at 10:55 p.m.

SCREEN 2: Joker: Folie a Deux at 7:30 p.m., Beetlejuice Beetlejuice at 10 p.m, and The Conjuring (2013) at 11:50 p.m.

SCREEN 3: Halloween (1978) at 7:30 p.m., The Evil Dead (1981) at 9:10 p.m and Night of the Creeps at 10:40 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to decorate their trunk, bring candy to pass out and help the kids trunk-or-treat at the drive-in.

Youngstown Fall Flea

On Saturday, it’s a fall-themed Youngstown Flea from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. There’s free admission and parking at 365 E Boardman St. in Youngstown.

Shop vendors’ tables like Next Level Knots, Kate Maple Bakery, Willow Studio, Jo Jane Creations, Heritage Baking and more.

Final day of Warren Flea and Farmers Market

After 50 years, the organizers of the Warren Flea and Farmers Market decided to close their doors for good.

This Saturday is the final chance to shop the Warren Flea and Farmers Market and support local participating vendors.

The market begins at 8 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m. at 428 Main Ave. SW in Warren.

“It has been our sincere pleasure to serve you and the tri-county area through the years,” staff and management said. “We look forward to this new chapter in our lives and wish you all the best.”

Fourth annual Leetonia Fall Festival

Check out the fourth annual Leetonia Fall Festival with food trucks, a pumpkin patch, face painting and live music.

It’s free to attend the festival which will take place 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. in Wick Park in Leetonia.

St. Patrick Church Sauce and Song Concert

At St. Patrick’s Church in Youngstown, they serve spaghetti dinners on the first Sunday of each month with some accompanying music.

On Sunday, hear a live performance by violinist Erick Ramos, an international graduate student from Venezuela who attends the Dana School of Music. Ramos is the first musician being featured in the church’s “Sunday, Sauce and Song Concert series.”

Spaghetti dinners will be served from noon - 3 p.m. in the social hall, and the live show start at 1:15 p.m. in the church.

Guests can choose to eat their meal either before or after the concert, which are free but donations are encouraged for Ramos.

Find St. Patrick Church at 1420 Oak Hill Ave. on the south side.

The next concert is in November.
