3 Valley foundations to reopen joint COVID-19 grant applications

YOUNGSTOWN — Three foundations that have collaborated on funding throughout the pandemic will once again come together to support programs and local initiatives to help residents recover from COVID-19 and its effects.

The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, The Raymond John Wean Foundation and The Youngstown Foundation on Wednesday announced the reopening of the COVID-19 Response and Stabilization Application for nonprofit organizations. The application will be available on all three foundation websites beginning Jan. 4, 2021.

The common form will again allow charitable organizations to submit the same proposal to any one of the foundations or all three at the same time. Applicants can apply for programmatic, general operating or capital grants.

The Community Foundation will focus primarily on crisis relief and immediate needs, while The Raymond John Wean Foundation will prioritize funding for projects that help stabilize and rebuild local communities. The Youngstown Foundation will consider proposals that encompass both crisis relief and stabilization efforts related to COVID-19.

Since the inception of the joint COVID-19 grant application in March, the three foundations have invested more than $1.6 million in Mahoning Valley COVID-19 response efforts through more than 100 grants.
