4 Valley students receive Greek Awards
YOUNGSTOWN — Four Mahoning Valley students were among those honored at Youngstown State University's recent Virtual Greek Awards Ceremony.
Awards were given to individuals as well as fraternities and sororities.
Allyson Cooper of Canfield and Mary Fitch, Galatiani Lopuchovsky and Noah Davies, all of Youngstown, were among the honorees.
Cooper, a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, received the Sorority Woman of the Year Award, which recognizes the premiere female leader within the Greek community at Youngstown State University.
Fitch, the president of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, accepted the Sorority of the Year Award on behalf of the organization.
Lopuchovsky, a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, received the Panhellenic New Member of the Year Award. It recognizes a new member of a sorority (within their first year of membership per calendar year) for their contribution to their chapter, the Greek Community, the university and their potential for further leadership.
Davies, a member of Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity, received the IFC Delegate of the Year Award which recognizes an IFC delegate for his contributions to the IFC community and his individual chapter.
Cooper and Lopuchovsky were two of the 20 students inducted into the Order of Omega, the Greek National Honorary Society.
Other Valley students inducted were Michael Kuhns of Canfield (Alpha Phi Delta), Marissa Marzano (Alpha Omicron Pi) of Youngstown and Daniel Raver (Sigma Chi) of Youngstown.
Membership is open to juniors and seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
