CANFIELD — Mahoning County Public Health will offer vaccinations for rabies and COVID-19 Saturday at Angels for Animals.

The rabies shots are for dogs, cats and ferrets.

The COVID-19 vaccinations are for anyone 18 and older.

Vaccinations will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the shelter at 4750 W. South Range Road.

Mahoning County requires rabies vaccination for all dogs, cats and ferrets older than three months. Cost is $8 per rabies shot (cash only).

Pet owners must have their pets on a leash, in a cage or carried inside a pillowcase.

This clinic visit does not include a physical examination of the animal.

The veterinary staff reserves the right not to vaccinate any animal in the event the animal appears to be in poor health.

To receive the 3-year booster, bring proof of prior rabies vaccination. Without proof of prior vaccination, the pet will receive a one-year vaccination only. No appointment is necessary.

The COVID-19 clinic will provide the Johnson and Johnson (one shot) vaccine. Appointments can be made through MCPH's scheduling system, ArmorVax, which can be found at www.mahoninghealth.org or by calling 330-270-2855 Option 3. Walk-ins for COVID vaccinations are welcomed.
