YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning Valley Historical Society will open the 13th "Memories of Christmas Past" exhibit Saturday at the Arms Family Museum, 648 Wick Ave.

The exhibit, which was canceled last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, will be displayed through Dec. 31. As part of this year's safety precautions, masks are required.

This season’s overall theme, “Back to Greystone,” will portray festive décor and traditions during the 1900s to the 1930s inspired by how Olive F. A. Arms might have dressed and decorated her home in that era.

MVHS will bring its family tradition of the holiday season to each of the main floor’s seven period rooms at the museum. The exhibit will blend Olive Arms’ love of nature — flowers and birds in particular — with her approach to welcoming guests into her home.

Open hours for the holidays at the museum are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. The holiday exhibit will be open during evening hours for its Twilight Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. It also will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 27.

The museum will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
