CANFIELD — The Canfield Fair Board is seeking artists and sponsors to participate in a community art project that will kick off the 175th Canfield Fair.

Artists will create a flock of 6-foot replicas of the fair’s iconic rooster standing on the “Big Rock.” The flock will consist of 25 roosters.

Artists are required to submit an application, and finalists will be selected by a juried art committee. The rooster sponsors will have the final say on what design will be featured on their roosters. Artists will be paid a stipend for their work, and both amateur and professional artists are encouraged to apply.

The finished flock will make its debut at the 175th Canfield Fair from Sept. 1-6, 2021. After that, the individual roosters will be moved to locations for public display through October 2021.
