BOARDMAN — Boardman High School football coach Joe Ignazio has resigned, the school district announced today.
The longtime coach has been with the program for 18 years and served as head coach for the past eight years.
“We appreciate all the efforts of Joe Ignazio as a coach who emphasized hard work on the field as well as in the classroom,” Athletic Director Marco Marinucci said in a news release. “He was a dedicated coach who also stressed good sportsmanship and character with our Spartan athletes, and we wish him well.”
The process to find a new head coach will begin immediately, the district said in a news release.
