BREAKING | Mahoning County Public Health closes vaccine registration
YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County Public Health announced it's temporarily closing registration for the COVID-19 vaccine "due to an overwhelming demand."
The announcement posted to MCPH's website does not indicate when registration will reopen.
"The vaccination process is dependent on the availability of vaccine provided to Mahoning County and approval of any additional vaccine providers. We are asking for your patience as we work our way through the process. It is our goal to be able to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to all those who choose to receive it." the announcement read.
Mahoning County Health Commissioner Ryan Tekac appeared on a vaccine Q&A forum hosted by Mahoning Matters Tuesday night and did not mention the decision. He noted, as of Tuesday, there were about 11,000 people on the registration list.
