BREAKING | Ohio reports 3,466 new COVID-19 cases; 191 are in the Valley

Ohio surpasses 10,000 ICU patients since the pandemic began.

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Department of Health on Saturday reported 3,466 new COVID-19 cases statewide in the past 24 hours.

That includes 191 new cases in the Mahoning Valley: 68 in Mahoning County (for a total of 30,787), 60 in Trumbull (22,885) and 63 in Columbiana (14,144).

Among Ohio's 88 counties, Mahoning ranks 11th in most cases and Trumbull 16th.

There were 169 new COVID-19 hospitalizations reported in the state and 14 new ICU admissions. Since the coronavirus pandemic began, Ohio has had 10,001 patients admitted into ICU units.

The state's vaccination dashboard says there have been 6,266 new vaccinations since Friday.

Of Ohioans age 12-and-older eligible for the vaccine, 6,011,821 are fully vaccinated (60.11 percent).

Friday, ODH reported that 23,955 people have died because of coronavirus, an increase of 350 since Tuesday's report. Twenty-eight new deaths were in the Valley: 18 in Mahoning and five each in Trumbull and Columbiana.
