BREAKING | Ohio reports 6,143 new COVID-19 cases; 360 are in the Valley

Ohio Department of Health says 129 in the state have died from coronavirus since Friday.

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Department of Health on Tuesday reported 6,143 new COVID-19 cases statewide in the past 24 hours.

That includes 360 new cases in the Mahoning Valley: 150 new cases in Mahoning County (for a total of 34,264), 133 in Trumbull (25,846) and 77 in Columbiana (16,107).

There have been 1,653,380 total cases in Ohio since the beginning of the pandemic. Of Ohio's 88 counties, Mahoning ranks 11th in most cases and Trumbull ranks 16th.

ODH reported 129 new deaths in the state since Friday's report, including 10 in the Mahoning Valley (three in Mahoning, three in Trumbull and four in Columbiana).

Hospitalizations increased by 567 and ICU admissions by 55.

There were 12,025 new vaccinations started since Monday's report. Of Ohioans 5 and older, 6,138,090 have been fully vaccinated (55.81%).

ODH says 50.46% of all residents in Mahoning County have completed their vaccinations; 48.10% in Trumbull; and 41.64% in Columbiana.
