YOUNGSTOWN — U.S. News & World Report has named Mercy Health — St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and Mercy Health — St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital as high-performing hospitals.
The hospitals received their marks for their chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and heart failure programs.
The magazine's annual Procedures & Conditions ratings, now in their sixth year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors about where to receive care for common conditions and elective procedures.
For the 2020-21 ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide in 10 procedures and conditions. Fewer than a third of all hospitals received any high-performing rating.
“The hospitals that rise to the top of our rankings and ratings have deep medical expertise, and each has built a track record of delivering good outcomes for patients," Ben Harder, managing editor and chief of health analysis at U.S. News, said in a news release.
The rankings will be published in the “Best Hospitals 2021” guidebook, available in stores Oct. 6.
