CANFIELD — 898 Marketing, 5721 Shields Road, Suite A, recently welcomed its summer interns for 2021.

"Our internship initiative for college students has produced young professionals who have had an immediate impact for various companies upon graduation, including ours," Cailyn Chrystal, director of the internship program at 898 Marketing, said in a news release.

This year's summer interns are:

  • Ivan Bosnjak, a Youngstown State University student who expects to graduate in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Science degree in information technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. Bosnjak is a graduate of Boardman High School. At 898 Marketing, he will assist the video production team with shooting and editing various projects and the digital team with a variety of initiatives, including reporting, search and optimization.
  • Shelby Byrne, a YSU student who is on track to graduate in December 2022 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration while minoring in marketing and social media campaigns. She is a graduate of Canfield High School. This summer, she'll work with various clients to develop blogs and social media content and will work with the digital team on Google and SEO projects.
  • James Kerrigan, a student at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., who expects to graduate in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. Kerrigan is a graduate of Ursuline High School. At 898 Marketing, he will work with the digital team on a variety of client initiatives, including reporting and optimization on digital campaigns and Google and SEO projects.
  • Morgan Lewis, who graduated from The Ohio State University in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree while majoring in communications. She's a graduate of McDonald High School. This summer, she will assist 898 Marketing with content creation, including blogs, press releases and social media posts.

Kennsington Grille and Waypoint 4180 hosting job fair

CANFIELD — Kennsington Grille and Waypoint 4180 are hosting a job fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. July 26 at Waypoint, 4180 Westford Place.

Kennsington Grille is hiring for a prep cook, line cook, bartenders and servers. Waypoint is seeking cooks, dishwashers, bartenders and servers.

Job seekers are asked to bring their resumes, wear proper attire and be prepared for on-site interviews.

Attorney Richard Magill appointed to key OSBA role

COLUMBUS — Ohio State Bar Association President David Lefton recently appointed area attorney Richard Magill to chair the association's Workers' Compensation Law Section for a one-year term, which began July 1.

Magill, of McDonald, is a partner at the firm of Heller, Mass, Moro and Magill Co. LPA, 54 Westchester Drive #10, Youngstown, where he focuses his practice on workers' compensation issues.

Along with serving on the OSBA Workers' Compensation Section, Magill serves as a liaison to the Ohio Industrial Commission. He serves on the Trumbull County Bar Association's Executive Committee and is a member of the Portage County Bar Association and Mahoning-Trumbull County Academy of Trial Lawyers.

Magill received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and his law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.

Huyck named coordinator of media relations for Youngstown diocese

YOUNGSTOWN — The Most Rev. David J. Bonnar, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown, has appointed Justin Huyck as coordinator of media relations for the diocese, effective Sept. 1.

The position is responsible for the implementation of communication policies and programs that support the church.

Huyck is a graduate of Cornell University, where he studied government. He earned a Master of Arts degree in theology and liturgy from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Before coming to Northeast Ohio, he served communities in Albany, N.Y., Chicago and Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Since 2013, Huyck has served as pastoral associate and director of Adult Faith Formation at St. Michael the Archangel in Canton. At St. Michael's and in his previous communities, he has supported various aspects of parish life, including liturgy, adult faith formation, retreats, small faith groups and youth and young-adult ministries, as well as pastoral planning and development of parish leadership bodies.

"Justin's skill set in written, verbal and interpersonal communication provides the Diocese of Youngstown with the opportunity to proactively promote the work of the church through a variety of communication avenues," Bonnar said in a news release.
