BUSINESS UPDATES: Brain Gain Navigators to feature Hynes Industries, Hope Center

YOUNGSTOWN — Two episodes of the Brain Gain Navigators Program are scheduled for next week.

“Episode #3: Hynes Industries” will be presented at 3:30 p.m. April 13. The featured speakers will be Rick Organ, president and CEO of Hynes Industries, and Jeremy Gurski, plant manager.

“Episode #4: Hope Center” is scheduled for noon April 14. The featured speaker will be Rhonte Davis, executive director of The Hope Center for Cancer Care.

Brain Gain Navigators is virtual and hosted on the JA Inspire Virtual online platform, a college career and trades exploration site for middle and high school students. Registration is required to access the JA Inspire Virtual online platform. To register, click here.

Ribbon-cutting set for Job Placement Welcome Center

YOUNGSTOWN — Flying High’s Professional Development Center is celebrating the opening of its new Job Placement Welcome Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The Job Placement Welcome Center, 6 Federal Plaza, on the sixth floor, enables residents to walk in and have access to immediate job opportunities. 

The Professional Development Center works with various national and local employers to meet their job demand. Job developers work with job candidates to connect them with the best job opportunities, a news release states. Case management services help individuals become prepared and qualified for employment by providing a variety of financial support services and pre-employment training and workshops that employers require of job candidates prior to employment.

The Professional Development Center also houses staff from the Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership and the Youngstown Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Program, providing job seekers with a variety of services, the release states.

The Welcome Center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
