BUSINESS UPDATES | Coldwell Banker EvenBay adds office administrator, recruiter

WARREN — Coldwell Banker EvenBay Real Estate has hired Jill Mayfield as office administrator and recruiter.

Mayfield will handle the day-to-day operations of the office and play a role in the company’s recruiting efforts, a news release states.

Most recently, Mayfield was a career counselor at Mahoning County Educational Service Center and a gift processing coordinator for the YSU Foundation. She previously worked at First Place Bank, where she was assistant vice president and a corporate recruiting officer, the release states.

For many years, she has co-chaired the annual Carmine L. Cassese Memorial Bocce Tournament. She has also managed campaigns through the Davis Family Boardman YMCA and chaired or co-chaired several committees through the Jeffrey L. Francis Memorial Golf Tournament, Youngstown Area Community Cup and Giant Eagle LPGA Golf Classic.

Southern Park Mall hires new manager of Events & Activations

BOARDMAN — Southern Park Mall has hired Stacey Willis as its new manager of Events & Activations.

Willis, who joined the team Sept. 14, will lead town center marketing efforts at the new DeBartolo Commons site, set to open in October. She will plan on-property events and activations, work with local media and engage with tenants and the local community.

“The Southern Park Mall team and I are thrilled to have Stacey Willis join us,” Brian Gabbert,

general manager at Southern Park Mall, said in a news release. “Stacey will be an integral part of our work as goodwill ambassadors in the Valley. As manager of events and activations, she will be essential to our work to build special events, programs and collaboration opportunities for our community at DeBartolo Commons.”

Willis started at Jillian’s as an event sales manager. She has 12 years of experience in marketing, sales and event planning. Most recently, she was manager of Regional Catering

Sales and Marketing for CoreLife Eatery.

E-waste disposal company launches in downtown Warren

WARREN — GreenBoard IT, an e-waste disposal company, has opened at 817 E. Market St.

The company, founded by Mike Martof, Chuck George and Wiley Runnestrand, recycles electronics while protecting customer information through data sanitization methods, a news release states.

Every data device that enters the facility is either digitally sanitized using federally recognized standards or is physically shredded. Certificates of recycling are provided for every pickup, and itemized certificates of destruction are also available if required.

The company works with almost all types of e-waste, including PCs, laptops, servers, computer monitors and screens, cables and wires, networking gear, uninterruptible power supplies and printers.

“We saw a need for a local provider who could support the area with recycling needs and thought this was a great way for us to invest in the downtown area, provide an employment opportunity and begin building a circular economy for electronics in the Valley,” Runnestrand said in the release.

Oak Hill Collaborative to host Digital Inclusion Week

YOUNGSTOWN — Oak Hill Collaborative will host Digital Inclusion Week beginning Monday.

The weeklong event is being presented in partnership with the National Digital Inclusion Alliance and is taking place all over the nation at various sites.

Oak Hill’s hybrid event will be presented in person at 507 Oak Hill Ave. and on Facebook Live.

The times, dates, topics and presenters are:

  • 4 p.m. Monday: “Intro to 3D Printing” with Anthony Hake;
  • 5:30 p.m. Tuesday: “Making Music with SonicPi” with Chris Palmer;
  • 4 p.m. Wednesday: “Bob’s Flying Drone Class” with Bob Jadloski;
  • 3:30 p.m. Thursday: “Phishing and Cracking, Emphasis on Info Security” with Wes Stanton;
  • 4 p.m. Friday: “Streaming and Multimedia for Beginners” with Brimtone (band).

Brain Gain Navigators webinar set for Monday

GIRARD — The next Brain Gain Navigators webinar is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Firefighters and EMTs from the Austintown Fire Department will be on-hand to discuss the career path and answer questions from students and instructors.
