CANFIELD — Individuals, companies and organizations can purchase livestock at the Canfield Junior Fair to donate to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.
The 174th Canfield Fair was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic and was limited to the Junior Fair.
Those who participate in the Livestock Auction/Sale in person at the Canfield Fair Event Center must enter the fairgrounds through Gate G. To bid online, click here.
Livestock available to purchase for donation to the food bank includes market beef, hogs, poultry (broilers), turkeys, goats and lambs.
The auction and sale Thursday includes:
- 5:30 p.m.: goat milk fudge, market rabbits and market goats;
- 7 p.m.: market lambs and carcass lambs.
The auction and sale Friday includes:
- 5:30 p.m.: market poultry (broilers), turkeys and ducks;
- 7 p.m.: market beef, market feeders and market hogs.
Livestock purchased to be donated to the food bank will be processed by Winona Frozen Foods and Lehman Poultry.
Processing fees will be added to the purchase price (market beef, 60 cents per pound; hogs, 60 cents per pound; lambs and goats, $100 each; broilers, $6; ducks. $6; and turkeys, $16). Prices are subject to change without notice.
