Canfield Local Schools to require masks for some students starting this week

The school district has reported 21 total cases of COVID-19 so far this school year, which began the week of Aug. 22.

CANFIELD — A Canfield Local Schools spokesperson confirmed the district will being requiring masks indoors for K-6 students and all staff and visitors starting Wednesday.

Parents were informed of the decision today, the spokesperson said. More information is expected to be released Tuesday.

The school district reported 13 new cases of COVID-19 among students and two new cases among staff in its most recent report to the Ohio Department of Health. There have been 16 cumulative cases among students and five among staff since the school year began the week of Aug. 22.
