Census Bureau postpones training and field operations

Social distancing measures to protect workers haven’t been finalized.

AKRON — Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the  U.S. Census Bureau has temporarily suspended field operations and training for workers for the 2020 Census.

Friday, the Census Bureau notified applicants for enumerator positions in Northeast Ohio that training sessions have been delayed indefinitely.

Training sessions  were supposed to begin March 24, but applicants were notified March 19 that training would not begin until April.

Training will include social distancing measures, which have not been finalized.
