Dana School of Music bringing fall choral concert to cathedral

YOUNGSTOWN — The Dana School of Music will have a fall choral concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday at St. Columba Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave.

The concert,  "... How Can I Keep From Singing,” is free.

Featured ensembles include the Dana Chorale, University Chorus, YSU Barbershop Chorus, Daniel Keown & Hae-Jong Lee, Directors and the Dana String Ensemble, led by Joseph Kromholz and Kivie Cahn-Lipman. Jack Ciarniello and Kathy Miller will accompany.

The Campbell Memorial High School Advanced Choir, directed by Joseph Spurio, is the guest choral group. The Dana Chorale will sing songs of spirituality with pieces by Buxtehude and Ešenvalds, including "Cante Domino" by Karl Jenkins.

Performing songs of affirmation will be the Voices of YSU, featuring, among others, the popular "Believer." The Barbershop Chorus will sing songs of love, including "Let Me Call You Sweetheart." Songs of mystery in eternity will be performed by the Dana Chorale, with a rendition of Billy Joel’s "And So It Goes" among other pieces.
