Diocese of Youngstown bishop makes clergy appointments
YOUNGSTOWN — Bishop David Bonnar of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Youngstown recently made the following clergy appointments:
- The Rev. Ryan Furlong will serve as part-time director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, effective July 1. He will continue to serve as parochial vicar at St. Charles, Boardman.
- The Rev. G. David Weikart will serve as pastor of St. Joseph and Regina Coeli parishes in Alliance, St. Joseph in Maximo and St. Ann in Sebring, effective Sept. 1. Bonnar also appointed Amy Benedetti-Dike and Deacon Greg Wood pastoral associates of those four parishes, effective Sept. 1. Wood will exercise his diaconal ministry in all four parishes as well. Bonnar also has appointed Father Patrick Manning and Father Peter Haladej sacramental ministers for all four of these parishes, effective Sept. 1.
- The Rev. Brian Cline will serve as pastor of St. Joan of Arc in Canton, effective Sept. 1.
- The Rev. Maciej Mankowski will serve as pastor of St. Barbara in Massillon, effective Sept. 1.
- The Rev. Chad Johnson will serve as parochial vicar at St. Patrick Parish in Kent and the Kent Newman Center Parish.
- The Rev. Brian Smith will serve as parochial vicar of St. Paul Parish, North Canton, and diocesan coordinator of Hispanic Ministry.
- The Dominican fathers of St. Dominic Priory will serve as chaplains of Campus Ministry at the Newman Center at Youngstown State University.
- The Rev. Kevin Peters will serve as chaplain to Ursuline High School in addition to pastoring St. Patrick Parish and St. Angela Merici Parish in Youngstown.
- The Rev. Matthew Hummerickhouse will serve as chaplain to Cardinal Mooney High School in addition to serving as parochial vicar at Holy Family Parish in Poland.
- The Rev. Daniel Finnerty will serve as chaplain to Ashtabula St. John High School in addition to serving as pastor of Assumption Parish in Geneva.
- The Rev. Christopher Cicero will serve as chaplain to Warren JFK High School in addition to serving as pastor of Blessed Sacrament and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parishes in Warren.
- The Rev. Brian Cline will serve as chaplain to Canton Central Catholic High School in addition to serving as pastor of St. Joan of Arc Parish in Canton.
- The Rev. Thomas Dyer will serve as chaplain to St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Louisville.
