Diocese of Youngstown removes clergy member from abuse list

YOUNGSTOWN — The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown announced today that William Smaltz's name has been removed from the list of clergy in the diocese against whom credible, substantiated allegations of sexual abuse of a minor have been made.

After further inquiry and consideration of additional and new information, the allegations are not deemed credible and substantiated, the diocese said in a news release.
