YOUNGSTOWN — "The Place That Makes Us," a documentary film highlighting the work and team members of Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation, as well as Youngstown residents, will premiere online this week.

The documentary will be available for viewing from Wednesday through Nov. 19 as part of the DOC NYC film festival.

"Youngstown, Ohio, once a booming steel and mining town, is now the epitome of post-industrial decline. Plunging population, derelict housing, and crime plague the city, but a new crop of industrious entrepreneurs and community activists refuse to accept defeat, nor will they abandon their beloved hometown," a description on DOC NYC's website states.

YNDC will receive a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales, and those funds will be used for more tree planting in Youngstown neighborhoods, Ian Beniston, YNDC executive director, said in a news release.
