YOUNGSTOWN — As COVID-19 positivity numbers continue to rise, Mahoning County Public Health is rolling out a public service announcement featuring Youngstown native and Emmy-nominated actor Ed O’Neill.
The campaign encourages residents to stay safe and healthy as the holiday season begins.
“This is a crucial time as we’re seeing the numbers of positive COVID cases rise with the holiday season approaching,” Mahoning County Health Commissioner Ryan Tekac said in a news release. “We know that people are tired and want their sense of normalcy back, but we need everyone to remain vigilant and healthy.”
The campaign, through the encouragement of O’Neill, reminds everyone to wear a mask, wash their hands, keep socially distanced and receive an annual flu shot. The commercial can be seen across various programming on local broadcast TV stations, as well as MCPH’s social media platforms.
O’Neill starred in “Married ... With Children” and “Modern Family.” He is an alumnus of Ursuline High School and Youngstown State University.
