Free COVID-19 and flu vaccinations to be offered at Youngstown libraries

YOUNGSTOWN — The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County is partnering with the Youngstown City Health District to provide free COVID-19 vaccines and boosters, as well as annual flu shots, at select library branches on select dates.

Those receiving their first COVID-19 shot will receive a $100 gift card provided by the Youngstown City Health District and Medicaid.

Eligible Valley residents can walk in or make appointments to get a COVID-19 vaccine, booster shot and/or annual flu shot at the following PLYMC branches from 11:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.:

  • Tuesday: Main Library, 305 Wick Ave.;
  • Oct. 12: East Library, 430 Early Road;
  • Oct. 19: Newport Library, 3730 Market St.;
  • Oct. 26: Michael Kusalaba Library, 2815 Mahoning Ave.;
  • Nov. 2: Brownlee Woods, 4010 Sheridan Road.

Appointments can be made by visiting the Youngstown City Health District's website. Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines will be offered. Booster shots of Pfizer only will be available. For the COVID-19 vaccines requiring a second dose, appointments will be scheduled and provided by the Youngstown City Health District.

Recipients should bring a photo ID and proof of insurance, if applicable. Masks or face coverings are required.
