CANFIELD – Mahoning County's Girl Powered workshop Oct. 12 will feature hands-on activities, robotics demonstrations, and dynamic STEM guest speakers.

It will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mahoning County Career & Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road, Canfield and is sponsored by MCCTC and Valley STEM + ME2 Academy.

This is one of the 100 Girl Powered workshops that will take place around the world during October, coinciding with the United Nations International Day of the Girl.

“The Girl Powered initiative will help reach many more young women who might have an interest in robotics and STEM, make them feel welcome, show them they belong and invite their creativity to take root and thrive.” Mara Banfield, career tech director, said in a news release.
