Gourmet market and cafe to replace Peaberry’s in Canfield

CANFIELD — Napa Grocery, a gourmet market and cafe, will move into the Peaberry's Cafe location at 4350 Boardman-Canfield Road in April.

On March 3, Peaberry's announced on its Facebook page that it will close the Canfield cafe March 14.

Napa Grocery will take over the building April 1 and immediately begin construction and renovation, a news release states. It plans to open by mid- to late May.

Longtime friends and chefs Nunzio Scordo and Aaron Hynek said Napa Grocery will sell an array of restaurant-quality prepackaged food, wines, craft beer, baked goods and coffee. Sandwiches will be prepared to order. During the summer, catering will be offered for larger group orders and off-site events.

"We felt like now was the time for this type of business. The COVID shutdowns have transformed the way restaurants do business, and the traditional restaurant model is undergoing some radical changes," Scordo said in the release. "I know we are taking a risk by changing things up a little bit when it comes to what this area is used to when eating and ordering out, but we also believe people are ready to step outside of their comfort zone when it comes to enjoying and experiencing new foods and new culinary concepts. We know they will love what we're going to do."
