Hooked on the outdoors? Hunting and fishing show gets underway today

The three-day show kicks off today and will feature more than 100 exhibitors, raffles, giveaways, seminars, demonstrations and more.

GIRARD — The Hunting & Fishing Super Show and Sale is set for this weekend at the Metroplex Expo Center, 1620 Motor Inn Drive.

Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $7 for adults and free for children under 12. The first 100 children Saturday will receive a free fishing reel provided by the Trumbull Federation of Sportsmen's Club.

In addition to more than 100 exhibitors, the show will feature raffles, giveaways, hunting and fishing seminars and demonstrations on turkey, deer, coyote, walleye, catfish, bass, crappie, land preparation and more.

Speakers will include Sam Cappelli, a Cabela’s walleye tournament champion; Mark Dietrich, who has won multiple state and national fishing tournaments; Dan Elko, a nationally known crappie angler, writer and president of the Northeast Ohio Crappie Anglers; and coyote expert Tom Bechtal.
