Hopewell Theatre’s 2021-22 season to open with ‘20th Century Blues’
YOUNGSTOWN — Hopewell Theatre's 2021-22 season will open in September with "20th Century Blues."
The theater at 702 Mahoning Ave. will stage the show at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 3, 4, 10 and 11, and at 2 p.m. Sept. 12.
"20th Century Blues," by Susan Miller and directed by Matthew Mazuroski, stars Stephanie Ann Cambro Holt, Pat Foltz, Kim Akins, Brenda Zyvith, Lynn Nelson Rafferty and Nate Beagle.
Also on the schedule:
- "I'll Be Back Before Midnight" by Peter Colley, directed by Christopher Fidram; 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29 and 30 and Nov. 5 and 6, and 2 p.m. Nov. 7.
- "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When The Rainbow Is Enuf" by Ntozake Shange, directed by Carla D. Gipson; 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11, 12, 18 and 19, and 2 p.m. Feb. 20.
- "Deep in the Heart of Tuna" by Ed Howard, Joe Sears and Jaston Williams, directed by Pat Foltz; 7:30 p.m. April 1, 2, 8 and 9, and 2 p.m. April 10.
- "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" by Jethro Compton, directed by Jeanine Rees; 7:30 p.m. May 27 and 28 and June 3 and 4, and 2 p.m. June 5.

On Nov. 20, Lynn Nelson Rafferty will discuss her 50-year career in community and professional theater during the one-night-only special "Let's Talk Theatre — Lynn Nelson Rafferty in Conversation at Hopewell." The event is free, but reservations are recommended.
