Jewish Community Center offering 3 art programs for children

YOUNGSTOWN — The Paul and Yetta Gluck School of Visual Arts at the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, 505 Gypsy Lane, is offering three art programs for children.

Art Program for Children will be at 10 a.m. Saturdays from Dec. 19 to Jan. 30.

Designed by art educator Dana Goodfriend, the course is designed for early childhood and preschool-age children. Parents and caregivers can play with their children as they explore art-making techniques and create works of art inspired by master artists.

All children must be accompanied by a caregiver. The cost is $90 for JCC members and $115 for nonmembers. Registration is required by Tuesday.

Winter Wonderland, a three-day workshop for grades one to four, will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Dec. 21-23. Participants will explore winter art through seasonal themes that include snow, snowflakes, ice, snowmen, winter mittens and evergreen trees. The cost is $55 for JCC members and $70 for nonmembers. Registration is required by Friday.

Artful Winter, a three-day workshop for grades five to eight, will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Dec. 28-30. Participants will learn mixed media techniques for winter-inspired artwork that celebrates the beauty of snow, ice and the winter season. The cost is $55 for members and $70 for nonmembers. Registration is required by Dec. 24.
