YOUNGSTOWN — Penguin City Beer, the official beer of the Youngstown Phantoms, will release a limited-edition can for the 2020 season.
The limited-edition can is be a joint collaboration and will feature artwork by Youngstown Clothing Co.
“We are thrilled to partner with Penguin City Brewing Company and The Youngstown Clothing Co. who are two of the most exciting, successful, innovative and hard-working entities in the Valley,” Andrew Goldman, Phantoms president, said in a news release.
The limited-edition can will be available in select stores and at all home Phantoms games. The 12-ounce can won't be available to purchase at Penguin City’s brewery.
“We love being able to continue to work with the Youngstown Phantoms and getting to partner with Youngstown Clothing Co. on this special can design,” said Aspasia Bernacki-Lyras of Penguin City. “We are proud to celebrate our city’s sports teams, and the Youngstown Phantoms are very much a part of our community. This is a triple win.”
“The Youngstown Phantoms is an amazing organization to have in our community,” said Tim Petrey of Youngstown Clothing Co. “Many people don’t realize the road to the NHL comes right through Youngstown.”
Youngstown Clothing Co. will be releasing a limited-edition shirt to go along with the beer that can be purchased at the store in Southern Park Mall starting Saturday.
The Youngstown Phantoms are part of the United States Hockey League. The league has seen more than 100 players commit to NCAA Division I schools, and 15 Phantom players have been drafted into the NHL. The Youngstown Phantoms are co-owned by Bruce Zoldan, CEO of Phantom Fireworks, and Murry Gunty, founder and CEO of Black Bear Sports Group Inc.
