Lit Youngstown reading will feature Kelly Bancroft and Jessica Jewell

YOUNGSTOWN — Lit Youngstown’s First Wednesday series reading will feature Youngstown poet, playwright and essayist Kelly Bancroft and Kent poet Jessica Jewell at today at 7 p.m..

The readings, which will be followed by an open-mic, will be livestreamed on Lit Youngstown’s Facebook page. Register here to attend on Zoom and/or read in the open-mic.

Bancroft’s poems and prose have appeared in many journals, and her plays have been presented in Youngstown, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Milwaukee. She teaches at Hiram College and at the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center.

Jewell is the author of three collections of poetry — “Dust Runner,” “Slap Leather” and “Sisi and the Girl from Town” — and is co-editor of the bilingual collection “I Hear the World Sing.” She is the senior academic program director for the Wick Poetry Center at Kent State University, where she also earned her Master of Fine Arts and doctorate degrees.
