YOUNGSTOWN — The YMCA of Youngstown, 17 N. Champion St., will host a summer basketball skills series on Aug. 15, 22 and 29.

Skills training will start at 9 a.m. for 6 to 8-year-olds; 10:30 a.m. for 9 to 11-year-olds; and noon for 12 to 15-year-olds. Sessions will be led by Kendrick Mickel and Dre Brown and will last an hour.

Participants are asked to bring their own basketball, tennis shoes, mask and plenty of water. Water fountains will not be available for use on the day of training due to safety concerns. Basketballs will be provided for those who don’t have one.

The space and equipment will be sanitized between sessions, and each participant is limited to one parent or guardian in attendance. A health screening will be required for all participants on the day of the training session, which includes five questions, hand sanitation and a temperature check.

Each session costs $20 for YMCA members and $30 for nonmembers. Registration for all three days is $50 for YMCA members and $70 for nonmembers. Financial Assistance is available for those who qualify, and applications are available at the front desk of the YMCA.

To register, call Olivia Murphy at 330-744-8411, ext. 153, or click here.
