YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning Valley Historical Society has received two COVID-19 relief grants totaling $15,000.

MVHS received $10,000 from The Youngstown Foundation and $5,000 from the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley.

The grants will help offset some of the decrease in income MVHS experienced due to the cancellation of its “Memories of Christmas Past” exhibit and other earned income activities, a news release states.

“We’re thrilled and grateful to receive these grants,” Linda Kostka, MVHS development director, said in the release. “They will offset some of the significant losses in admissions, gift shop sales, events and rentals during our temporary closures in 2020.”
