McDonough Museum opens spring schedule with 2 exhibits

The 84th annual Juried Student Art & Design Exhibition and Bliss Kids Collective's “Ellipsis” exhibition will be on display today through Feb. 5.

YOUNGSTOWN — The John J. McDonough Museum of Art, 525 Wick Ave., is opening the spring portion of its schedule with the 84th annual Juried Student Art & Design Exhibition and Bliss Kids Collective's “Ellipsis” exhibition.

The shows will be on display today (Jan. 22) through Feb. 5. 

Other upcoming exhibitions include:

  • “The Absence of Light Within These Walls,” Amy Theiss Giese, Feb. 26 to April 2;
  • “Realizations,” Zac Benson, Feb. 26 to April 2;
  • “Our Blood-soaked Land is Haunted by My Muses,” James Shawn Crum, Feb. 26 to April 2;
  • “Skin,” Max Markwald, Feb. 26 to April 2;
  • Spring Graduating BFA Exhibition, April 23 to May 8;
  • Spring MFA Thesis Exhibition, April 23 to May 8.

Upcoming lectures include:

  • James Shawn Crum, 6 p.m. March 1;
  • Amy Theiss Giese, 10 a.m. March 10;
  • Max Markwald, 12:30 p.m. March 16;
  • Zac Benson, 9 a.m. March 23.
