Ohio marked a grim milestone on Saturday as more than 1,000 Ohioans were reported hospitalized for COVID-19 and more than 100 were reported to have died after contracting the new coronavirus.

Confirmed cases reached 3,739, only a fraction of the number state officials expect to reach before the pandemic reaches its peak in Ohio. About 42,000 people have been tested so far.

In Mahoning County, cases reached 250, with 90 cases in Trumbull County and 36 in Columbiana County. Thirteen people have died in Mahoning County, the highest per capita death rate in the state. Eleven more have died in Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

More information about the cases is hard to come by, as state officials have declined to give much more information on the cases, in particular more precise locations of the cases.
