ODH releases nursing home order, expects reports in 24 hours
COLUMBUS — The Ohio Department of Health on Wednesday released an order signed by Director Dr. Amy Acton requiring nursing homes in the state to report confirmed or probable cases of COVID-19 among residents and staff.
Licensed facilities must notify residents as well as their sponsors or guardians within 24 hours of new cases being confirmed, and those that have not already begun reporting must start within 24 hours of the order's issuance today.
Acton and Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said Tuesday they plan to publicly release statistics on COVID-19 cases in Ohio nursing homes. That information, however, is not yet available on the state's coronavirus website.
